Implementing customised packaging for a restaurant can bring both costs and benefits that impact sales. The costs may include the initial investment in technology and materials for personalised packaging, while the benefits encompass enhanced consumer experience, increased brand visibility, and improved product differentiation. These benefits can lead to potential competitive advantages and customer loyalty. Customised packaging allows for tailored solutions that meet consumer needs, potentially increasing customer satisfaction and repeat business. Moreover, personalised packaging can serve as a form of advertisement, promoting both the restaurant and any partnerships or events, thus creating additional value for the brand. By offering unique and visually appealing packaging, restaurants can stand out in a crowded market, potentially driving sales and revenue growth through increased customer engagement and brand recognition.
Based on Table 1, the findings indicate that graphic design significantly influences sales turnover, with a P value less than 0.05. Therefore, the null hypothesis that graphic design does not significantly affect sales turnover is rejected. Additionally, the results show that packaging material significantly impacts sales turnover, with a P value less than 0.1, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis that packaging material does not significantly impact sales turnover. This analysis suggests that both packaging design and packaging material are key factors influencing consumer buying decisions, thereby increasing sales volume. These findings align with those of Sajuyigbe, Ayanleke, and Ola (2013), as well as Maria-Stella and Nto (2017), who also found that packaging significantly affects sales turnover.
Based on Figure 1, packaging design significantly impacts consumer purchasing decisions by influencing consumer behaviour through various elements. Studies have shown that factors such as styling, functionality, cultural significance, colour, shape, typography, image, and material play crucial roles in shaping consumer preferences. Research indicates that consumers prioritise packaging design over pricing and other marketing aspects, with elements like cleanliness, safety, and product feature representation being key considerations during the purchase process. Additionally, the attractiveness, convenience, and information provided on the package are highlighted as essential attributes affecting consumer choices.
